The Annual Scientific Seminar and AGM will take place on 31 August 2013. Theme of the seminar is “Occupational Hygiene Accreditation Framework for Singapore”. Programs include the launch of the framework by Mr Tan Kia Tang, MOM, sharing of the framework by OEHS and sharings by 3 practicing Industrial Hygienists from different industries in Singapore. Nomination for Honorary Membership
OEHS is seeking for nomination of suitable Occupational and Environmental Health Professionals for its honorary membership. Submission for the nomination should include the particulars of the nominee and his/ her achievements in the areas of occupational and environmental health. Nominee should be individuals with outstanding contribution to the OEHS or in the field of Occupational and Environmental Health in Singapore.
All nominations should reach the Society via email to oehsadmin@gmail.com by the 30 April 2013. The Society will consider all nominations and the results will be announced in September 2013.

Occupational Exposure to Indium and its Pulmonary Toxicity in Indium-processing Workers
Abstract:
Recently we have measured airborne indium concentration of workers exposures in indium processes such as LCD and LED panel manufacturing processes. Indium is a newly emerging issue in the high-tech industry. In this presentation, toxicity and several OD cases of induum will be introduced and workers exposure levels in several companies in Korea will be presented.

Factory Visit to GSK Plant at 1 Pioneer Section 1
The Occupational and Environmental Health Society (OEHS) is privileged to be granted a visit to the GSK Plant (at 1 Pioneer Sector 1, Singapore) on 27 Nov 2012, 1.30pm to 4.30pm. The visit is limited to the first 15 registrations. This visit is restricted to members only and is free of charge. There will be a plant tour for the visiting members. In addition,members will be provided with insights on good occupational health and hygiene practices and HSE management in a pharmaceutical primary manufacturing site.
Visitors are encouraged to be donned in long pants and covered shoes (ie no high heel or sandals). Personal protective equipment (PPE) required would be safety spectacles and safety shoes. Laboratory coats would be provided on site.
Please sign up with your name, NRIC/passport number, company, contact number and email address. If you are driving, please provide your car registration number too. Kindly register before 10 Nov 2012. We will inform the successful registrants on further logistics arrangements.
